FAQ

What is the purpose of this website?

We are Earth Pics, a small group of photographers with a mutual passion: Taking great photos of our beautiful world! In the summer of 2013 we collected some beautiful nature photos. Apparently, people on Twitter loved it. Within 6 months, @Earth_Pics reached an impressive number of 1 million followers. We do not take any credit for the pictures that we post. That’s why we made a website where photographers and shutterbugs can upload their work to our Worldmap. We collect the best photos and credit the photographer. Every day we will post the best picture on our Twitter account. In addition, on our interactive website, we want to present original geo-related games to travelers and lovers of our beautiful world.

Who took all these beautiful photographs?

The photos on this website were taken by photographers from all over the world, both amateurs and professionals.

What's a Worldmap?

Everybody can upload their own photos to our Worldmap. Other people can check their favorite destinations and find great pictures.

What's a Bucket List?

What's Guess the Pic?

Every day/week, we will upload a photo to the 'Guess the Pic' game. Do you know where this photo was taken? Everybody can try the game for free, and we will announce a winner.

How does GeoGame work?

In GeoGame, you have to guess where you are in the world using Google Street View. You will be "dropped" into the most famous, interesting and beautiful places on earth. Using your mouse or keyboard, you can look and walk around a location. Look for clues such as landmarks, symbols, roadsigns, flags and buildings! When you think you know where you are, place the guess marker on the map. The closer your guess is to the actual location, the more points you get! Your final score is based on the total number of points scored in five rounds. Watch the time, because after 30 seconds, your score starts to decrease. After the game is finished, you can share your score, and challenge your friends to play the same game with the same locations.
